CREATING OUTDOOR CLASSROOMS & NATIVE SPACES FOR KIDS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY to learn, explore & play.

Oh, and they’re native bird paths too.

At Grow Kaha we work with farmers, Iwi, schools, nurseries and other community groups to create bush classroom spaces on land donated by landowners, the kaitiaki of our land to create spaces for the next generation to learn in, learn from, and fall in love with.

Recent studies have shown that outdoor classrooms, used for everything from bush kindy to school classes increases engagement and learning with benefits even extending back into the regular classroom.

If you’re a farmer with a piece of barely profitable land, or a landowner with space that you’d like to see turned into a flourishing forest, protecting native wildlife for the next generation, we would love to hear from you!

IN EVERY KIWI IS KAITIAKI… THE GROW KAHA STORY…

Grow Kaha has been a long time in the making. Kaha means many things to many people, the simplest translation into English is “strong” in Te Reo. Grow Kaha was initially started to join with the Government’s initiative to plant a billion trees, honouring our environmental responsibility in our Aotearoa. It quickly became clear to us that that resilience doesn’t just come from planting trees; there is a whole intertwined web as to how our New Zealand becomes both environmentally and economically sustainable, and responsible. Our mission is to start at the grass roots level; we are teaching our tamariki to love and care for their environment; how to nurture it and how to learn from it!
